摘 要:儒学史上,以佛摄儒早在东汉末年就已经开始,两宋开始兴盛。民国年间,王恩洋继承以佛摄儒传统,运用佛学原理解释孔孟等儒家经典。王氏对孟子的阐释,运用百姓化的佛教术语,重新解读了孟子一文中的一些重要命题和重大历史事件,其借用佛学种性说对孟子人性本善的解释尤其令人瞩目。王氏解释成功的原因,缘于其于"五四"反传统的语境中成功使用了大众话语,对传统儒学进行了合乎百姓口味的解读。Buddhism-based Confucianism studies began at late East Han dynasty and thrived in North and Song Dynasty.This tradition was continued in the Republic-of-China Age by Wang Enyang who interpreted Confucian classic works in terms of Buddhist principles.He re-interpreted certain key propositions and significant events written in The Work of Mencius by folk-popular Buddhist terms.His Buddhist caste-based explication of Mencius' theory of " human goodness by nature" is particularly noticeable.It is believed in this paper that Wang's success is attributable to his skillful use of folk discourse in the anti-tradition context of May Fourth period and his retelling of traditional Confucianism in a way familiar to mass people.
