Objectives To observe the clinical effect on patients with local anesthesia in ophthahnologic operation with whether informing them prior to operation of possible ache in procedure. Methods The patients with local anaesthesia in ophthalmologic operation were randomly divided into two groups, informed group (n=71) which was told about tbe possible ache in procedure before the operation started, and uninformed group (n=82) which the information was not given. Results In average, the intensity level of ache during procedure the patients of the informed group testified was obviously lower than those of uninformed group (P〈0.05). It was also proven by the nurse' operation evaluation review. Not only had the patients of informed group received higher score on being cooperative during operation than those of uninformed group, but also were less impetuous than the patients of uninformed group (P〈0.05). Conclusion Acknowledgement of possible ache in operation to patients who have ophthalmologic operation with local anesthesia prior to the procedure may help ease their anxiety and degree of the ache, and increase their cooperation during the procedure.
