摘　　要：与传统文献相比较,中国岩画文献有很大的不同,它是以崖壁石头为载体,以凿刻、描绘为记录手段,以图像为主传递信息的一种文献形式。中国岩画作为中国传统历史文献特殊形式之一,同样具有"考证、辨误、补遗、存史"之功能,对于社会史、经济史、民族史、宗教史、艺术史、民俗史等研究,都是不可缺少且直观形象的第一手资料。Compared with traditional documents, Chinese Petroglyphs has its distinguishing features. Its carriers are stones; recording methods are digging and drawing and main transmitting information is pictures. As a special pattern of Chinese traditional historical documents, Chinese Petroglyphs has the same functions. It also gives help to the studies of sociological history, economical history, ethnological history, religion history, art history and folklore history.
