Objective To investigate the expression of Survivin,NF-κB,VEGF-C,MVD and MLVD,their relationships with the behaviors of the small cell carcinoma of the esophagus and with MVD and MLVD.Methods Envision immunohistochemical method was used to detect the expression of Survivin,NF-κB,VEGF-C and MVD,MLVD in 34 cases of the small cell carcinoma of the esophagus. Results Positive rates of survivin,NF-κB and VEGF-C positive rate was 35.29%,67.65% and 79.41%,respectively.There were no connection between the expression of Survivin,MLVD and the tumor's invasion depth and lymphatic metastasis. There was a significant correlation between the expression of VEGF-C,NF-κB,MVD and the tumor's lymphatic metastasis, but there were no relationship to the tumor's invasion depth.MVD in the positive expression of NF-κB was higher than those in the negative expressed cases. Conclusion There were significant correlations between VEGF-C,NF-κB,MVD and the tumor's lymphatic metastasis. Thus they may play an important role in the small cell carcinoma and may be a molecular biological basis to clinical therapy.
