摘　　要：时间词是英语和汉语中一类比较特殊的词。对比研究显示,二者分属不同语系,差异较大的这两种语言中的时间词却在语义、句法功能等方面表现出较大的共同之处。这从一个侧面反映出了纷繁复杂的语言个性后隐藏的共性,同时也为时间词词类地位的确立提供了较为有利印证。Temporal words are a special type of words which can be found both in English and Chinese, Though English and Chinese are two very different languages of two different language families, the comparative study shows that temporal words of these two languages are similar in meaning and syntactic functions, which reveals the linguistic universal under the surface difference. Meanwhile, the study provides evidence for the classification of temporal words.
