摘　　要：无论是在古典小说还是在现代小说里,也无论是在中国叙事传统还是在西方叙事传统中,我们都可以找到通过书写一个特定空间来塑造某个人物形象的典型文本。可以说,对空间与人物性格关系的洞悉与否,是衡量一个作家是否具有创造性的标志之一。基于这种认识,在传统的人物形象塑造方法之外,叙事作品塑造人物性格、刻画人物形象的又一种方法———空间表征法可望给叙事学的人物研究开辟一条新路。空间表征法既可以出色地表征"扁平人物",也可以很好地表征"圆形人物";而通过书写"空间中的空间",空间表征法不仅可以出色地表征一个群体的"共性"或"集体性格",而且可以很好地表征单个人物的"个性"或"独特性"。No matter whether in classical fictions or modern fictions,whether in Chinese narrative tradition or western narrative tradition,we can find a typical texture,which models a character image by way of writing the certain space.Whether the writer gets insight into the space and personalities of the characters is one of the symbols to judge whether he is creative or not.Based on this recognition,besides the traditional way of creating character image,another way to create the character personality and portray the character image in narrative works is spatial representation method,which is possible to create a new route for the character studies in narration science.The spatial representation method can both excellently represent 'flat character' but also the 'round character'.And by way of writing 'the space in the space',this method can not only excellently represent the 'universality' of the group characters or the 'collective personality',but also well represent the 'individuality' or 'peculiarity' of the single character.
