基于网络语料库的英语新词用法调查研究——以Google为例

摘　　要：基于语料库的语言研究已经成为一种趋势。新词语问题应该是一个共时中的历时问题，而且新词语一定有一个动态发展的过程，只有用动态语料库的检索系统才能做到对新词、新义、新用法的即时、客观、全面的描述和评价：本文以网络语料库COCA为研究工具，对新词Google在语言中的真实典型用法特征进行观察和调查，提供新鲜语例及用法模式，旨在弥补规范词典和多年本新词语词典对新词语收录的滞后性和延迟性的缺陷，为词典编纂者提供参考，同时为语言学习者及研究者呈现新词研究的独特视角及方法。Corpus-based linguistic research has developed into the trend. Neologism can be studied diachronically from a synchronic point of view; furthermore, neologism is bound to be in the dynamistic process of growth. The application of retrieval system in dynamic corpus turns into reality the timely, objective and comprehensive description and evaluation of neologism, its connotation and usage. This paper, via the on-line COCA as a research tool, makes an observation and survey of truthful and typical features of the new word Google on a basis of the newly generated samples and patterns of usage. It is aimed to supplement to the standardized dictionaries and the neologism dictionaries due to the respective stagnation and suspense of compiling new words so that it can supply some reference for the compilers, and the language learners and linguistic researchers as well to the unigue perspective of neologism study.
