摘 要:在伊迪丝.华顿的小说中,男女主人公自我追寻的主题总是以不同形式呈现,并且具有深刻含义。以拉康的"镜像理论"为切入点,挖掘潜藏在《欢乐之家》中典型的"镜子"意象,可以揭示在"他者"映照下女主角丽莉.巴特曲折的自我追寻之路。在老纽约上流社会,有早期自我觉醒意识的丽莉在经历了自我迷失、痛苦分裂、挣扎与反抗后,以死亡为代价,改变了女性他者的地位,最终走向自我实现。这一悲惨的结局被赋予崇高与悲壮,使如百合花般的丽莉真正散发出历久弥新的魅力。In Edith Wharton's novels,the theme of self-pursuit is presented in different ways and has profound meanings.Based on Lacan's "Theory of the Mirror Stage",an examination of the typical images of mirror hidden in The House of Mirth reveals Lily Bart's dramatic self-pursuit mirrored by the "other".In the upper class of old NY,Lily,who had primitive sense of self-awareness,experienced the loss of self,divided self,struggle and revolt,changed "the other" status at the cost of her life,thus achieving self-realization.Lily Bart's self-pursuit added nobility and solemnity to her tragic end,which made the protagonist a true everlasting lily.
