摘　　要：拟声是通过模拟发音或声响造词，是英语造词的主要理据之一。拟声词的发音与词义之间存在着关联，根据其关联程度拟声可分为基本拟声和次要拟声，基本拟声是指拟声词的音与义之间基本一致，而次要拟声是指音与义之间存在着某种关联。Onomatopoeia is one of the chief motivations of English word formation, on the basis of creating words are by the imitation of the natural sounds or noises. There exists connections between the pronunciation and linguistic meaning of an onomatopoeic word, and depending on the degree of which, onomatopoeia may further be classified into primary onomatopoeia and secondary onomatopoeia; the former means that the structure and meaning of the words are more or less in accordance, while the latter refers to those words whose phonetic form partly suggests certain meaning.
