Reader-Response to Reading Literary Sub-genres: The Case of Fiction and Literary Essays

摘  要:This study seeks to investigate the differences in the interaction of participants with texts while reading two literary sub-genres, i.e., short story and literary essays. To this end, 30 participants were asked to read one fiction and two literary essays and to write down the questions that occurred to them during the reading process. These questions were classified into five categories: scripturally implicit, textually implicit, textually explicit, linguistic and miscomprehension. A Mann-Whitney test revealed significant differences between the interaction of students while reading t'tction and that while reading literary essays.
