摘　　要：语言是文化的载体，每种民族的语言都与该民族文化有千丝万缕的联系。英汉两种语言的社会群体在各自的历史长河中，由于两国的文化传统、地理环境、风俗习惯、历史宗教等诸因素的影响，形成了各自丰富的国俗语义。language is the carrier of culture. Each national language has lots of relationship with its culture in many respects. The social groups of English and Chinese languages, in their respective prolonged course of history and owing to the influence of following factors ： their respective culture and tradition, geographical surroundings, customs and habits and history and religion, etc, have formed its abundant folk semantics.
