摘  要:从孔子、孟子到荀子一脉相承的原儒精神,奠基于孔子的"仁",展开于孟子的"义",收拢于荀子的"礼"。其主旨是以"大丈夫"式的崇高道德人格为担当,通过建设完善、美好的社会制度而让天下的黎民百姓都能过上好日子。春秋战国是中国大变革的时代,社会秩序的土崩瓦解使得这个苦难中的民族必须重新寻找和建构生活的基础,而文化传统的风雨飘摇又解构一切规范、禁忌和束缚,人的心灵不得不赤裸裸地直面这个已经成为混沌无解问题的世界。人要想像人那样有尊严地活下去,就只能把无尽的苦难搁在心头,把无边的黑暗担在肩上,用自己的生命去追求光明,让自己的生命化为光明,大智慧由此而诞生。就这样,先秦儒家与先秦道家一道为中国人的精神世界完成了奠基工作。The sprite of original Confucianism, which spread from Confucius, to Mencius, then to Xun Zi, was based on Confucius's benevolence (仁), expanded in Mencius's justice (义), and ended in Xun Zi's ceremony (礼). What leaded their thoughts, was the pains and sympathy in their hearts which were caused by the sufferings of the people, and the responsibility for such sufferings. In that epoch, social order crashed, which made the people have to look for new basis of life again. In that epoch, the cultural tradition crashed, which deconstructed all rules, taboo and bounds, and people had to face with the world directly which was confused and had no answer. If people want to live as people honorably, they had to use their lives to seek lightness. So did Wisdom birth. They and original Daoism finished the work of giving foundation to the sprite world of Chinese together.
