摘　　要：张之洞之所以成为晚清时期重要人物,这与他具有儒者强烈的时代意识、勇于任事、关心国家命运的精神品格密切相关。这些精神品格使他:积极接受相关的西学,为儒学等中国传统文化的生存与发展注入了新的活力;勇于任事,敢作敢为,所到之处皆努力开创新局面,以图解决社会问题,发展社会经济;主张坚决抵抗外来侵略,捍卫国家民族利益。从而使他在中国近代史上留下了不可磨灭的贡献。Zhang Zhi-dong becoming an important figure in the late Qing Dynasty,it was closely related with his spiritual character of strong Confucian sense of the times,brave undertakings and care about the fate of the country.The spiritual character made him positively accept western learning,infuse new vitality for the survival and development of Confucian and other Chinese traditional culture,be bold in action and make efforts to start a new look where he went to solve the social problems and develop social economy,stand firmly against foreign aggression to defend the national interests.Thus he left an indelible chapter in modern Chinese history.
