摘　　要：周作人是中国新文学史上重要的散文作家,也是新文学重要作家中少有的以散文为其最主要的创作文体者,他在散文理论方面也发表了很多颇有影响的意见。他在不同时期所提倡的"美文""小品文"和"随笔",所指其实是同一种类型的散文,即占据了其创作大部的以议论为主的散文,这3种名称所对应的其实都是相当于essay所指的那种散文。而周作人个人的创作正是其散文理论的具体实践,他的理论倡导与创作实践都是一种理性的自觉的文体选择。Zhou Zuoren is one of the most important prose writers and literary critics in modern Chinese literature history.He is an important writer who takes prose as his most main literary style,and he has also expressed many quite influential opinions in the prose theory.But,the literary styles he advocated in the different times named as belles-lettres,vignette or essay,actually refer to the identical kind of prose,ESSAY.Zhou Zuoren′s individual creation is precisely his prose theory concrete practice.His theories and works are all literary style selection based on rational determination.
