意象与主题——试析《金光大道》中的神话原型

摘　　要：玛格丽特.德拉布尔的小说《金光大道》表面上局限于三个女人的日常生活,实际上,小说文本经过作者精心层层编码,糅合了西方神话传统中的蛇发女妖戈耳工.美杜莎、鸡头蛇怪、替罪羊、狼人等神话意象。这些意象不仅将小说人物相互联系起来,而且与小说的中心旨趣联系起来,加深了作品的死亡主题,展示了二十世纪八十年代英国生活全景图,扩大了文本的社会维度,突显出当时英国的畸形社会形象,同时也表达了作者对所处时代的尖锐批判。Margaret Drabble＇s novel The Radiant Way is the story of three women friends＇ daily life.But actually the author has encoded in her text such images as snake-haired demons Gorgon Medusa,cockatrice,scapegoat and werewolf in the Western traditional theology.These images have not only connected the characters of the novel,but also implied and deepened the death motif of it.This novel has displayed a panorama of Britain life in the 1980s,enlarged its social perspective and emphasized the deformed social images,showing the author＇s incisive criticism to her own time.
