摘　　要：影响英国大学科研评估制度诞生的宏观因素包括大学的自治传统、新公共管理思潮、撒切尔主义和高等教育大众化。科研评估在1986年诞生之后,出现了"路径依赖"现象,而该制度路径选择的实质是对当时英国经济领域市场化改革路径的依赖。2008年是英国大学科研评估的"关键节点",此制度被卓越科研框架取而代之。The macro-factors that effected the Research Assessment Exercise of UK university to emerge includes： the tradition of universities autonomy,the New Public Management（NPM）,the Thatcherism and the popularization of British higher education.After the naissance of RAE in 1986,there are some phenomenon of path dependence,and the essence of the path choice of the system is the dependency for the marketization reform path in the economic area of the UK university.And the year of 2008 is the ＂key point＂ for the research assessment exercise of the United Kingdom,it is replaced by the Research Excellence Framework.
