摘　　要：文章以五指山市水满乡和毛道乡的中、小学为重点,对琼南民族地区英语基础教育现状进行调查,找到该地区中、小学英语教育在教师、学生、文化背景、教学硬件等方面存在的问题,并就这些问题的解决提出了看法和建议。In this study, an investigation was carried out in middle and primary schools in Shuiman and Maodao townships based on the present situation of English education in the minority area of South Hainan. The authors advance some preliminary strategies on how to solve the existing problems related to faculty, students, cultural background, and teaching hardwares.
