摘　　要：教育具有促进社会发展和促进个人发展等两大功能。一般认为,教育的这两大功能是对立统一的。但是在人类不同的历史发展阶段和不同的传统文化环境下,人们对教育两大功能的重视程度会有所差别。针对日本过于重视教育的社会发展功能的现实,池田大作先生一再强调教育要注重人的和谐、全面的发展,他的这些思想对我国目前的大学教育也有很好的启发作用。Education has two functions： One is promoting social development and the other is promoting human development.It is generally believed that the two functions of education is the unity of opposites.However,in different stages of human development and under different traditional and cultural environments,people take them differently.The Japanese emphasis too much on its function on society.Mr.Daisaku Ikeda,has repeatedly stressed that education should pay attention to the harmonious and comprehensive development of human beings.These ideas have good enlightenment to the university education in our country.
