摘　　要：目的:研究人食管鳞癌(ESCC)术后标本中β-catenin的表达,探讨其与食管鳞癌患者的临床病理特征以及预后的关系。方法:采用组织芯片、免疫化学方法检测211例手术切除的人ESCC及癌旁正常组织(211例)中β-catenin的表达。应用χ2检验分析β-catenin的表达与临床病理特征间的相关性,Kaplan-meier法计算累积生存率,多因素分析采用COX比例风险模型。结果:β-catenin在人ESCC组织中主要表达于细胞质,其表达阳性率(64.5%)要明显高于癌旁正常组织(5.7%,P<0.001)。Kaplan-Meier生存分析结果提示,β-catenin高表达的ESCC患者预后较差(P=0.010);COX多因素分析证实,β-catenin是ESCC患者的一个独立预后因素(P=0.026)。结论:β-cate-nin过表达与ESCC患者的不良预后显著相关。提示β-catenin是非常重要的ES-CC患者预后因素之一。OBJECTIVE： To investigate the expression of β-catenin in Esophageal squamous cell carcinoma （ESCC） tissues, and evaluate its correlation with pathological features as well as prognosis of ESCC patients. METHODS： The expression of β-eatenin was detected by immunohistochemistry using tissue microarrays consisting of 211 specimens of ESCC tissues and adjacent normal tissues. Whether the expression of β-catenin was associated with clinical pathological features was determined by Chi Square analysis. The cumulative survival rate was analyzed by Kaplan-Meier method, and the prognosis factors were screened by COX proportional hazards model. RESULTS： β-eatenin was mainly expressed in cytoplasm of ESCC tissues, and its positive rate in ESCC tissues was significantly higher than that in adjacent normal tissues （64.5% vs 5.7%, P〈0. 001）. The result of Kaplan-meier analysis indicated that ESCC patients with higher positive rate of β-catenin had a poorer prognosis （P = 0. 010）. Multivariate analysis showed that β-catenin was an inde pendent prognostic factor for ESCC patients （P= 0. 026）. CONCLUSIONS： The overexpression of β-catenin is significantly correlated with poor prognosis of ESCC patients. These findings suggest that β-catenin is one of the important prognostic factors for ESCC patients.
