摘　　要：作为学术用语的"封建"经历了从古义"封土建制"到新义"封建社会"的衍变,而作为非学术用语的"封建"一词随着新文化运动的发展逐渐成为"陈腐、落后、反动"的代名词。二者的衍变都与翻译有着密切联系。The term fengjian as a Chinese equivalent of 'feudalism' has witnessed developments and debates along with the storyline of the Chinese revolution.Fengjian as an academic term has undergone semantic change from its ancient notion of raising princes to the ruling status to a new concept meaning 'feudal society'.Since the May Fourth Movement,fengjian has become a catchword in Chinese daily life,acquiring such connotations as 'dated,inhuman and reactionary'.
