摘　　要：20世纪美国女作家薇拉.凯瑟大致经历了创作之初的名声大作、将近40年的研究沉寂、20世纪70年代被重新认识、到今天地位显赫几个阶段。从20世纪70年代至今的凯瑟研究大致可以分为传记批评、女权主义批评、生态主义批评以及文化批评四大类,不同批评各有侧重,或为各自理论寻找文本依托,或从新视角挖掘凯瑟小说中的新寓意。而国内的凯瑟研究也逐渐走进了多元化的研究春天。Willa Cather,one of the most important woman American writers in 20th century,whose reputation with both lay and professional readers is now secure,had won enormous applauses when she just began her novel-writing career,then encountered near-oblivion for nearly 40 years,fortunately received reassessment by feminists in 1970s and now is widely read and discussed home and abroad.The approaches to Cather＇s novels since 1970s fall into four categories： biographic feministic,ecological and cultural approaches.China has now gradually stepped into a thriving spring of Willa Cather studies.
