摘　　要：古希腊时期,亚里士多德在《诗学》中对隐喻的定义和功能进行了分析。他认为隐喻是一个词替代另一个词来表达同一意义的语言手段,隐喻在语言中主要起修饰和美化的作用。诗歌是语言艺术的精华,诗歌中大量隐喻的使用与节奏、韵律、意象、句法等其他诗歌语言成分共同使诗歌语言产生"陌生化"的效果,创造出诗歌特有的审美价值。隐喻是诗歌丰富意蕴的表现手段,是诗歌含混美的创造手段,隐喻是诗歌的实质。The researches on the metaphor have a long history.As early as ancient Greek times,Aristotle had already analyzed the definition as well as the function of metaphor in his famous POETICS.He believes that metaphor is a kind of linguistic means by which one word could be replaced by another in order to express a similar meaning.Metaphor mainly plays a role of modification and beatification in language.Poetry is the essence of the art of language.A widely used metaphor in poetry along with tempo,rhythm,imagery,syntax,and other components makes the poetic language a ＂strange＂ result so as to create a unique aesthetic value of poetry.Metaphor is a means of expression which can reach the meaning of poetry;thus,metaphor can be deemed the essence of poetry;so metaphor is the essence of poetry.The diversity of cognitive metaphor opens up a wide field for the readers＇ interpretation.
