摘　　要：美国畅销书作家威廉.贝内特写了大量有关青少年道德修养的书籍。《道德的指南针-引领人生旅程的故事》是贝内特的其中一部鼓舞人心的力作,一部励志宝典,于1995年出版,以后多次再版。内贝特从文学、史书、民间故事中收录了数百篇讲述美德和家庭价值的故事、诗歌和散文,用浅显质朴的语言向人们讲述好与坏、真与伪、善与恶的故事,目的在于培养儿童和青少年的同情心、友爱心、爱国心、责任感等良好道德品质,在人生的旅程中不迷失道德的方向。Dr. William J. Bennett, author of best sellers, wrote many books, wrote many books on moral development for American youth. The Moral Compass ： Stories for a Life＇ s Joumey, one of his instructive and inspiring works, was published in 1995 and republished many times in the following years. The book offers many well - known examples of good and bad, right and wrong, in great works from liter- ature and in exemplary stories from Western history and mythology along with a wider selection of tales and folklore from Asia, Africa, and Latin America, in hope of nurturing virtues like compassion, friendship, patriotism, responsibilities in children and youth and like a compass, guiding their moral conduct.
