摘　　要：本文阐述了语言测验学科的定位问题。文章从学科的性质、研究对象、研究的基本问题和基本方法及支撑学科等方面讨论了语言测验的学科属性和定位问题。我们认为语言测验是一门交叉学科,它融合了人文科学的眼光和自然科学的精神。它以研究语言能力和测量工具的信、效度为学科的基本问题,采用定量和定性相结合的方法来研究问题。语言测验研究还需要语言学、语言教学与习得,以及心理测量学等学科领域的支撑。This essay elaborates the problem of how the subject of language testing should be viewed. The attribute of language testing is being discussed from such aspects as the nature of the subject, the object of the study, basic problems and methods, and supporting disciplines and so on. We hold the view that language testing is an interdiscipline which incorporates both the insight of humanities and the spirit of natural sciences. Language ability,testing reliability and validity are the basic problems studied in this subject. The research method of language testing is a combination of qualitative analysis and quantitative analysis. Language testing research also needs the support of other fields or subjects such as Linguistics, Language teaching and acquisition, Psychometrics.
