摘　　要：英美文学作为英语专业的必修课,是学好语言的最佳途径,不仅能使学生获得必要的文学知识,而且能培养学生的文学鉴赏力和审美的敏感性,促进语言基本功和综合素质的提高。本文通过探讨目前该门课的教学现状,论述了有效实施教学的方法。English-American Literature,a compulsory course for the English majors,is one of the best ways to learn English.This course can not only provide students the necessary literature knowledge,but develop students' taste for the literature and their aesthetic sensitivity.It also furthers students' linguistic proficiency in English and their comprehensive quality.The paper discusses the effective ways to carry out the course by analysing its current teaching situation.
