从《鹿鼎记》英译本看武侠文化意象的传递

摘　　要：语言是文化的载体,它具有丰富的文化意象。在汉英翻译过程中,必然要涉及到汉英意象的转换。而武侠小说中含有很多独特的武侠文化意象,这些文化意象则更具中国特色和武侠特色。在《鹿鼎记》的英译本the Deer and the Cauldron中,译者闵福德对于其中的武侠文化意象采取了独特的"杂合化"表达,文章拟从武功招数、绰号名称及帮派名称三个方面探讨武侠文化意象的传递方式与策略。Language is the carrier of culture,which are manifested by the ＂cultural images＂ in the literature.The interpretation of ＂cultural images＂ is definitely involved in the process of Chinese-English translation.The ＂cultural images＂ emerged in the martial arts fiction Lu Ding Ji are endowed with Chinese characteristics and martial ones.The translator,John Minford,adopted the ＂hybridized＂ presentation for the images of the fiction in the his English translated version The Deer and the Cauldron.This paper will analyze it to investigate the interpretation and strategies of ＂cultural images＂ about martial arts from the three dimensions：moves,nick names and terms of factions.
