缓和型模糊限制语在英文“董事长致辞”中的应用

摘　　要：随着越来越多的中国企业走向国际资本市场,英文董事长致辞的沟通作用变得日益重要。由于致辞的内容和形式都不受证监会的规定和限制,因此,企业可以根据公司既定的沟通目标,来选择适当的语言策略以传递符合公司印象管理战略的信息。在搜集整理了45份英文董事长致辞的基础上,对中国企业的英文董事长致辞中的缓和型模糊限制语的运用进行了分析,以了解缓和型模糊语在致辞中呈现的特点并探究其原因。With more and more Chinese companies now going to international capital market, the president＇s letter is gaining increasing importance in communication between firms and their investors. Because the content and form of president＇letters are not regulated by SEC, firms have much freedom in choosing proper linguistic strategy to convey the information consistent with firms＇impression management strategy. Based on 45 presidents＇letters, this thesis analyzes the ap- plication features and functions of shield hedges in English president＇s letters of Chinese firms listed on NASDAQ.
