摘　　要：《莫里尔法案》是美国高等教育史上一个极其重要的里程碑。它不仅标志着美国高等教育开始从旧式学院成功地过渡到具有现代意义的大学,也丰富了美国高等教育的形式,满足了美国社会经济的发展及工业革命的需要,为美国从一个农业国迅速发展成为一个工业大国注入了活力。Morrill Act is a very important milestone in the American higher education history. It not only indicates that American higher education successfully transfers from the pattern of traditional colleges to that of modern universities in the real sense, but also enriches the configuration of American higher education, which satisfies the demands of the economic development and the industrial revolution and motivates the change of America from an agricultural country to an industrial one.
