Based on the questionnaire survey, the influencing factors of knowledge sharing behavior in academic virtual communities of different discipline are analyzed comparably through the descriptive statistical analysis and strnctural equation model of the observational indices in this paper. The result shows that the factors play different roles in the knowledge sharing behavior in the two types of academic virtual communities. Natural science community members have much stronger information motives, while humanities and social science community members are more out of psychogenic motive. In both types of communities, identity of members has a positive impact on the browsing behavior, and self-efficacy has a positive impact on posting behavior. In both types of communities, the trust between members significantly affects the knowledge sharing behavior. Meanwhile, natural science community members attach more importance to effective and reasonable community management, of the three common incentive forms: member points, level and honor, science community members attach more importance to the former two, while humanities and social science community members pay more attention to the latter two. Based on this, the management of different discipline academic communities is proposed.
