摘 要:复合型外语人才的培养正在引起人们对外语学科定位的反思。在作为理性文化的学科文化语境下,这种反思不仅应当是经验性的,还须是理性的。传统的外语学科的主体理性以纵向思维为主体特征,而交叉复合型的学科还需要横向思维。外语学科既需要传统的语言文学研究以使其学科主体合法化,也需要通过学科交叉与分化使其具有学科创新和适应社会发展的内在机制。它需要强化其人文主义传统和博雅精神,但也不能回避对功利社会的认知与实践参与,以培育本学科对多学科的渗透能力和社会实践能力。这种跨学科的行为需要对个性化探索予以充分理解和支持,尤其应鼓励能够体现本学科应用特色的在涉外经济文化交流方面的探索和实践。Interdisciplinary education of foreign language talents has resulted in multiple re ections of the disciplinary identity of the foreign language studies. Given disciplinary culture as a rational culture, this re ection has to be empirical but rational as well. The conventional rationality of the discipline of foreign languages features vertical thinking, while the new interdisciplinary paradigm is also in need of horizontal thinking. The discipline of foreign languages calls for both the conventional studies of legitimacy of linguistics and literature to help legitimate the discipline, and also interdisciplinary convergence and divergence for its innovation and adaptation to social development. This means to retain its traditional pursuit for liberalism and elitism but at no expense of the cognizance and practices of the utilitarian activities so as to foster its competence in social practice and cross-disciplinary cognitive participation. This cross–disciplinary academic development therefore requires toleration and encouragement of diversi ed attempts, especially in the foreign related economic and cultural exchanges.
