摘　　要："应用型本科教育"是在我国高等教育连续扩招、教育部对普通本科院校进行教学工作水平评估、高等教育人才培养出现结构性矛盾、以市场为基础配置生源的方式和机制开始形成的背景下而提出的。这一新的办学理念和办学模式的提出,是新设本科院校实施"异轨竞争"的需要,是在新的竞争环境中争取优势、谋求进一步生存和发展的重要举措。Applied undergraduate education is put forward in the background of continuous enrollment expansion of higher education,Ministry of Education’s evaluation of the ordinary undergraduate universities,the rising of structural contradiction of higher education talent cultivation and the formation of market as the manner and mechanism of fundamental resource distribution.This new concept and mode of running university meet the requirement of applying diversification strategy in the newly-built undergraduate universities and it is an important strategy for attaining advantage and seeking for survival and development in the new competitive environment.
