摘　　要：The present paper attempts to investigate into how candidates process the reading materials in the TEM4 reading component. A checklist was designed to elicit candidates' responses in this respect. The findings are illuminating in the sense that we are able to know more about the nature of reading in testing situations, about the relevant skills or strategies (both reading and test-wiseness ones), and about the validity of the TEM reading component.本文调查和研究了在TEM4考试环境下考生运用策略的情况。本文将策略分为两部分:阅读策略和应试策略,并通过实证研究手段了解考生在不同的阅读部分中是否运用不同的策略以及其程度如何。调查结果显示,测试形式和要求不同的阅读部分会促使考生运用不同的策略。调查结果有助于考试设计人员了解在考试环境下考生处理阅读材料的模式。
