摘　　要：《书·舜典》中"玄德"一词,伪孔传之解说虽可通,但仍然有进一步探究的余地。以汉字构形、先秦"玄"字蕴含之文化意象为依据,"玄德"一词的新释应为"生德"。Although the interpretation made in pseudo-kongzhuan of ＂xuande（玄德）＂,an expression in the book of Shuntian,seems to be justifiable,there is still room for further discussion.Based on a knowledge of Chinese word formation and an awareness of the cultural image residing in xuan（玄） before Qin Dynasty,xuande（玄德） may be re-interpreted as ＂the virtue to nurture＂.
