摘　　要：文章概述了英语(作为第一或第二语言)使用的地域和历史。从中可以看到,英语使用范围的扩展过程始终与殖民、贸易和移民等因素相连。目前,随着全球经济一体化进程的加速,英语作为一种国际语言的运用会更普遍。This paper summarizes the history and areas where English is used as a first or second language. It shows that the expanding range of the usage of English is always related to colonization, trade and immigration. At present, with the accelerating development of global economy, English will be more and more widely used as an international language.
