Objective:To compare the difference of attributional style, hopelessness and self-esteem between patients with major depression disorder(MDD) ,anxiety disorders(AD) and obsessive-compulsive disorder(OCD) and explore the applicability of the integrated hopelessness/self-esteem theory to MDD,AD and OCD. Method:Patients with MDD(n=81) ,AD(n=53) and OCD(n=48) and control group(n=51) were measured with attributional style questionnaire(ASQ) and self-esteem scale(SES) .The scores were compared between the 4 groups. Results:①There were significant differences in the scores of total ASQ,globe attribution, and hopelessness betweem MDD patients and control group(P=0.02,0.02,0.03) .Patients with AD and OCD were different significantly on globe attribution scores(P=0.03,0.03) .②Self-esteem socres were different significantly between patients groups(MDD,AD and OCD) and control group(P=0.00) . Conclusion:Patients with MDD,AD and OCD hold maladaptive attributional style, mainly in globe attribution. It is more obvious for MDD patients than AD and OCD patients.Only MDD patients feel hopeless.Patients with the three dieases has similar levels of low self-esteem.This study supports that the integrated hopelessness/self-esteem theory is applicable to MDD,but not to AD and OCD.
