摘 要:陈西滢不是专门研究戏剧的,但对戏剧艺术与戏剧改革有自己的主张,也有过较大的影响。文学史通常把陈西滢归于"胡适派"文人之列,其实陈氏的戏剧观,包括他的易卜生研究、对传统戏剧的态度,都与胡适的观点多有差异。陈西滢对文学、对戏剧有其自己冷静理智的判断,他对戏剧舞台艺术性、趣味性和娱乐性的追求,对传统戏剧较为理性的态度,以及从接受角度注意观众兴趣的引导和培养,在现代戏剧理论创建期都是一份难得的贡献。Chen Xi-ying's specialty is not drama research, but as far as drama and drama reform is concerned, he has his own opinions and has had a great influence. Chen Xi-ying is usually classified as a number of Hu Shi's group, but in fact, his drama view is much different from Hu Shi's, including his research about Iibsen and his attitude to traditional plays. Chen Xi-ying has his calm judgment about literature and drama. His pursuit of stage artistry, interest and entertainment, and his emphasis on cultivation and guidance of audiences' interest are rare contributions to the formation of initial modern drama theory.
