严复自然观探析

摘　　要：严复作为近代中国思想史上最有影响的代表人物之一,在整合吸纳古今中外科学与哲学思想的基础上形成了一整套自成体系的关于自然的看法。严复通过对宇宙本体、宇宙万物的起源与演化和人与自然的关系等三方面的探究,深化了国人对自然的认识,促进了中国自然观的发展。同时,严复的自然观中又表现出复杂性的一面,即观点之间的看似不一致,较为突出的有:一方面对宇宙本体作出了物质性解释,一方面又认为"大抵宇宙究竟与其元始,同于不可思议;"一方面在宇宙万物起源上否定创世论,一方面又认为宗教迷信不可一概否定。通过分析,可以看出,严复自然观中的"看似不一致"实统一于其丰富的思想内涵之中。As a one of the most important thinker in modern China,YEN Fu put forward a system of ideas about the nature by fusing the Chinese and foreign thoughts.YEN Fu＇s view of nature included the following aspects：the noumenon;the origin and evolution of the universe;the relations between the man and nature.YEN Fu＇s view of nature was conductive to the development of the Chinese thoughts.But there were some inconsistent views in YEN Fu＇s view of nature.For instance,on the one hand YEN Fu regarded the noumenon as substance;on the other hand,he thought the universe was unknown.While denying the creationism,he held that we shouldn＇t deny the religious superstition completely.In fact,the inconsistent views were unified in YEN Fu＇s thoughts.
