摘 要:本文通过问卷对现居美国的华裔汉语学习者进行调查,试图揭示学习者个体及社会心理因素对其母语保持的影响。经统计分析,本文得出以下结论:移民时间越晚,汉语学习时间越长,美国华裔母语保持水平越高,口语水平未受汉语学习时间影响;在华时间和教育程度对母语保持没有影响;对母语社团态度、动机与母语保持水平之间不相关;在母语社团认同上,母语认同与母语技能相关程度较高,文化、族群和价值观认同与之基本不相关。针对当前华裔母语保持存在的诸多问题,本文提出了相应的母语保持策略。The present study explores the effect of individual and sociopsychological factors on language maintenance based on a survey of 206 American-Chinese heritage language (HL) learners By analyzing the quantitative questionnaire data, the following results are achieved:Firstly, the age of immigration, the duration of studying Chinese are significant predictors of Chinese proficiency, while visits to China and education background showed no influences on language maintenance. However, the longer studying time has not improved the speaking ability. Second, American Chinese HL learners' attitudes and motivation has no relationship with Chinese proficiency. On the contrary, the correlation between Chinese language identity and language proficiency is obviously er, while Chinese culture identity, ethnic group identity and traditional values identity show no significant links with Chinese proficiency. As is seen from this study, there are still lots of challenges about HL maintenance, and accordingly the politics and strategies are put forward to reverse such situation.
