摘　　要：从商后期算起,汉字的发展有三千多年的历史了,在这三千多年的历史中,汉字的形体、语义以及语音都发生了一些重要的变化。"虢"在现代汉语中并不是个常用字,一般用作地名、国名及姓氏,如虢国、虢仲等。虢的本义是什么,又是如何发展的呢?郭姓是如何起源的,虢和郭又有着怎样的联系?本文将揭示"虢"的字形和字义发展过程,以及"虢"同"郭"姓的联系,为研究"虢"文化提供一些线索。Starting with the Later period of Shang Dynasty,Chinese characters has more than three thousand years of history.For more than 3000 years,the Chinese character physique,the semantics as well as the pronunciation have had some important changes.＂Guo＂ in the modern Chinese is not a frequently using character,generally serves as the geographic name,the country＇s name and the surname,like Guo,Guo Zhong and so on.What is the original meaning of Guo,and how develop？ What is the origin of Guo surname and what is the connection of Guo and Guo？ This article will reveal the development process of ＂Guo＂ glyph and meanings,and the contacts of ＂ Guo＂ with ＂Guo＂ surname.
