摘　　要：设计的历史,应该是一部记述人类生活的历史。文章认为,设计的目的是服务于人,用之于生活;设计的历史,必须是一部启迪思想,创造理论的历史;设计的历史,可以从区域史走向整体史;设计的历史,必须运用综合方法来研究并且中国设计史学研究必须有自己的特色等等,文章讨论了中西设计史学的分歧,认为,中国设计史应该做全面、整体的历史研究,以"长时段"研究为主,"短时段"的研究要有设计历史发展的纵向意识。这样的纵横交叉的设计史研究,方能显现出中国设计史研究的特色。Design history is supposed to be a history to record people’s life.The aim of design is to serve for people and life;design history must be a history to enlighten thinking and to create theory;design history can walk from regional history to a universal history;design history has to be studied by comprehensive methods,and the study of Chinese design historiography must has its own character.This thesis discusses the differences between Chinese and western design history,and thinks that Chinese design history should make overall and total history study,mainly do 'longperiod'study,and the 'short-period'study should be with vertical idea of the development of design history.This kind of research method with the cross of vertical and horizontal line can show the character of Chinese design history study.
