摘　　要：1909年9月28日，在著名近代地理学家张相文的组织下，由国学大师章炳麟、地质学家邝荣光、人文地理学家白月恒、水利学家武同举、历史学家陈垣、教育学家张伯苓和蔡元培等一大批著名学者在天津成立了中国地学会．这是我国第一个地球科学领域的学术团体，也是我国辛亥革命前成立的三个近代科学学术团体之一。1910年2月，地学会的学术刊物《地学杂志》在天津创刊。On the basis of the study on the Geographical Journal on one side and the study on the academic organizations,academic journals,academic pioneer in the field of earth science on the other side,this article sorts out the basic features of earth science in modem Chinese history.It also puts forward some opinions in carrying forward the fine tradition of modem geologists,such as breaking the bad habits,and overcoming the impetuous phenomenon in the academic community.
