摘 要:本文通过一个自控步速阅读实验,探讨了语境强弱对不同水平中国英语学习者歧义词在线加工过程的影响。结果发现,语境强弱不影响低水平,但影响高水平学习者对歧义词次要意义的早期激活,即强语境提高了高水平被试次要意义的激活阈限,从而和主要意义产生竞争,进而完成词义的选择。由此说明,高水平学习者的歧义词加工过程遵循重排序模型,而低水平学习者遵循顺序通达模型。差异产生的原因在于其歧义词表征——低水平学习者的表征是局部式的,而高水平的表征是分布式的。本研究结果对二语词汇习得和教学具有一定指导意义。In this study,a self-paced reading experiment was conducted to explore the role of contextual strength in the online processing of ambiguous words by Chinese English learners with different proficiency.The results show that the strength of context did not affect the low proficiency learners,but affected the high proficiency learners' early activation of subordinate meanings of ambiguous words.This pattern revealed that strong context raised the threshold of high proficiency learners' activation of the subordinate meanings so that they could compete with the dominant meanings for selection.The results indicate that high proficiency learners' processing of ambiguous words follow the reordered-access model while the low proficiency learners follow the ordered-access model.The reason for the difference is their different representation of ambiguous words,the high proficiency learners' representation of ambiguous words is distributed while the low proficiency learners' is local.The conclusion may shed light on second language lexical acquisition and teaching.
