Objective:To detect carotid artery and evaluate the effect of hyperbaric oxygen on endothelial dependent dilation(EDD) function of brachial artery in patients with chronic cerebral circulation insufficiency(CCCI).Methods:Intima-media thickness(IMT) and plaque of carotid artery of 62 cases were detected by color Doppler ultrasound.EDD of brachial artery, serum levels of NO and ET of the two groups were detected before and 10 days after hyperbaric oxygen therapy. Results:Compared with normal people(0.65±0.12mm),IMT in patients with CCCI was increased(P〈0.05).Frequency of plaque of carotid artery was 74.19%(46/62).EDD of brachial artery and serum levels of NO of the two groups increased significantly after treatment compared with that before therapy(P〈0.05,P〈0.01).Conclusion:There exists a high frequency of plaque of carotid artery in patients with CCCI.The effect of hyperbaric oxygen on endothelial dependent dilation function of brachial artery in patients with CCCI could be evaluated objectively by color Doppler ultrasound.
