摘　　要：＂I will settle in the village for the rest of my life to serve the folks.＂ Zeng Yuping, then 27, made that vow more than 30 years ago, when she agreed to be the doctor in Xingxing Village, in Longhui County, Xian＇an District, in Central China＇s Hunan Province. Zeng, who has never wavered, has done her utmost to serve the village＇s residents. In return, her charges have come to think of and refer to her as their ＂guardian angel,＂ In 1993, and again in 2009, China＇s Ministry of Health recognized Zeng as a ＂National Outstanding Rural Doctor.＂ She remains the only doctor to receive the honorary title twice in China. Last September, she was nominated for the Third Appraisal of the National Moral Models.“扎根星星村，服务众乡亲”，是当年报名做乡村医生时，曾玉萍许正反诺言。三十多年来，她始终坚守自己的承诺，竭尽所能地为村民们服务，先后荣获第三届全国道德模范提名奖我“全国优秀乡村医生”称号。
