摘　　要：认为女性人物的塑造是福克纳小说的一个主要特点,而"影子性"则是其作品中女性形象不可分割的性质,并且深深根植于当时美国南方现实社会之中。现实社会把这些女性变成了生活中的"影子",从某种程度上说,她们在福克纳小说中的影子性恰恰反映了她们在现实生活中的影子性。本文通过分析小说《我弥留之际》中艾迪.本德仑身上的"影子性",探讨虚无主义和传统妇道观对女性身心的毒害和摧残,从而使读者更加客观地看待福克纳小说中的女性形象,更加全面地解读福克纳的作品,更加深刻地体会他的人道主义立场。The creation of female characters is one of the main features in William Faulkner＇s novels.The ＂shadow nature＂ is indispensable on these characters,and it is rooted deeply in the social reality in North America then,which converts them into the shadow characters in society.Thus,their shadow nature in Faulkner＇s artistic creation just reflects their shadow nature in reality.Through the analysis of Addie Bundren＇s ＂shadow nature＂ in As I Lay Dying,we aim to explore the physical and psychological destruction of nihilism and traditional female virtues on women to assist readers in regarding the female characters in Faulkner＇s novels more objectively in appreciating Faulkner＇s works more comprehensively,and in understanding his humanism more profoundly.
