摘 要:"自由结婚"是清末民初婚姻变革中的醒目现象,也是彼时小说的重要主题之一。作品中的女主人公多由受过新式教育的女学生充任。因为"自由结婚"动辄与传统女性道德相抵触,女学界对这一问题多持保守态度。清末民初的社会小说中,只有当男女情爱提升至"仁民爱物"的高度,"爱情"方与"道德"并行不悖。而言情小说中女学生对一己情爱的大胆追求,往往引向"自由毒"的泛滥。不过,这种文学呈现的结果,主要源自小说家的刻意经营,而不是女性真实生活图景的写照。新女性在文学中的全面突围,有待于两性道德的新变和"五四"新文学的出场。'Free marriage' is the eye-catching phenomenon at the end of the Qing Dynasty,and the main theme in that era.The heroines were the female students who had received western education.Because 'free marriage' frequently tended to conflict with the traditional morality of women,feminine scholars usually remain conservative on this issue.Only when the theme of love in the social novels of the late Qing Dynasty was raised to 'benevolence' height could the love reach a consensus with morality.The female students' pursuit for love in the love-related novels was usually led up to 'sappiness',which is the fabrication made by the novelists rather than the reality.The appearance of new feminine figures awaits the appearance of gender-related morality and new literature of May Fourth.
