摘　　要：模糊语言是新闻报道中不可或缺的写作方法,它反映了客观事物在外延上的一种不确定性。通过理论阐述和实例分析,分析了模糊语言的分类构成,并从英语新闻的特点等方面阐述了新闻报道运用模糊语言的语用需求,旨在说明模糊语言在新闻报道中的使用具有不可避免性,只要运用得当,非但不会影响报道,反而更加突出新闻的真实性和准确性。Vague language plays a very important role in news report.This paper discusses the structure of vague language.And then based on the analysis of the examples selected from China Daily of 2011,it probes into the reasons for proper pragmatic application of vague language in news reporting.
