OBJECTIVE To investigate the expression of Fas and FasL and it's relationship with the expression of Bcl-2 in sinonasal inverted papilloma(SNIP).METHODS Immunohistochemical method was used to determine the expression of Fas,FasL and Bcl-2 in 20 cases of SNIP,10 cases of sinonasal squamous cell carcinoma(SCC)and 10 cases of normal inferior concha tissues.RESULTS In the tissues of SNIP and SCC,the positive expression rates of FasL were 65%,70%,Expression of FasL was significantly higher in SNIP and SCC than in normal tissues, the positive expression rates of Fas were 25%,30%.Expression of Fas was significantly lower in SNIP and SCC than in normal tissues. The expression of FasL was significantly higher than Fas in SNIP and SCC.In the tissues of SNIP and SCC,the positive expression rates of Bcl-2 were 60%,90%.Expression of Bcl-2 was significantly higher in SNIP and SCC than in normal tissues.Expression of FasL was positively related to expression of Bcl-2 in SNIP.CONCLUSION Fas,FasL and Bcl-2 may play an important role in the pathway of progression of SNIP and SCC.
