概称句蕴含的“语言游戏”与“生活形式”

摘　　要：概称句描述事物某一特征,大多数概称句容忍反例。哲学界、语言学界对概称句的研究从语义、语用和认知视角进行,取得一些成果,但大多数概称句为何容忍反例,研究不足。本文发现,概称句之所以成立,因为它是一种语言游戏和生活形式。维特根斯坦后期的语言观和世界观不仅可以加深对概称句的认识,而且还能解释其他语义现象。A generic sentence is a statement denoting a particular feature of a class of things, and countcrexamplcs may occur in most generic sentences. Thus a challenging question arises for scholars in philosophy and linguistics. This paper argues that previous studies conducted from semantics, pragmatics and cognition are not sufficient, and Wittgenstein＇ s Language-game and Form of Life are helpful to the understanding of generic sentences and some other semantic phenomena.
