An Investigation into the Abstract in the Graduation Theses of English majors

摘　　要：As one of the most important sections of the paper, the abstract should be viewed as a mini-version of the paper. This paper aims to analysis the abstract in the graduation theses of English majors from the perspective of the macrostructure. The finding shows that incomplete macro-structural units of the Introduction-Methods-Results-Discussion/Conclusions and failure to meet the word limit and paragraphing are the main problems. Suggestions as how to write the abstract of the paper are also attempted in the last part of this paper.As one of the most important sections of the paper, the abstract should be viewed as a mini-version of the paper.
